Knotty Bits

Billed as an “innovative, family-friendly traveling sideshow,” this performance is a must-see for Mayfaire Renaissance Festival newcomers and returning patrons. “We actually created this act for premiere on the Mayfaire stage in 2005,” says Gwyd the Unusual. (He earns his name!) A vaudevillian sideshow performer, reptile enthusiast and actor for over 20 years, Gwyd added a few animal traps, bits of broken glass, and some sharp, pointy nails to this mini-extravaganza.

The Gypsies

History recalls colorful tales of troubadour families - musicians, jesters and dancers - traveling in caravans or on foot. Today, they can still be found performing at huge indoor circuses, small carnivals, Renaissance festivals and outdoor events, showcasing their unique talents.
